Allen-Bradley 1734-AENTR is a dual Ethernet dot I/O communication module for connecting point I/O racks to a central controller in an Ethernet I/P network. The adapter can be implemented in ring, shape and tree topologies and is powered by an external 24VDC power supply.

1734-AENTR supports TCP/UDP/IP protocols and uses Class 5 or Class 6 cables to establish physical connections. This adapter supports 10/100 Mbit transfer speeds with auto-negotiation.

IP addresses can be assigned via a finger wheel switch or by using the BOOT-P DHCP utility. In most applications this module is configured with a static IP address. With a static IP address, the IP address does not change even if the device is turned off. Alternatively, the module can be configured with a dynamic IP address. For dynamically typed addresses, the IP address changes every time the module is restarted. This pattern is suitable for applications with very specific requirements, as it can cause communication errors due to sudden changes in IP addresses.

This module is installed on the far left side of the point input/output system and is the only module to establish a connection to the network and the main controller. It transfers 1/O data over the network from its local I/O baseboard to the controller. In addition, the point I/O adapter supports simultaneous communication with different scanner modules.

Allen-Bradley 1734-AENTR I/O is a 2-port Ethernet adapter that provides Ethernet /IP network connectivity at rates from 10 to 100 Mbits/s, half duplex or full duplex. It comes with 2 pass-through  Ports, Class 5 RJ-45 connectors for supporting ring or Daisy chain/linear networks, as well as existing tree and star network topologies. These Ethernet ends are configured as embedded switches. This adapter is part of the 1734 series of dual port communication adapters for point I/O modules. It uses messages encapsulated in the standard TCP/UDP/IP protocol. Class 5 rated twisted pair cables are used for interfaces. No network required   Scheduling and routing tables.

In addition, the 1734-AENTR can support the connection of multiple controllers simultaneously. The 1734-AENTR adapter is mounted vertically on the DIN rail. It has a pen pressure finger wheel switch for setting network addresses. Other ways to set up a network Internet protocol address include retrieving the IP address from non-volatile memory and using a DHCP server (setting the module to enable DHCP). To avoid unauthorized control or loss of control, assign a fixed IP address to the I/O adapter. If you use a DHCP utility, make sure it is configured with the same IP address as the adapter.
