The 1762sc-IF8U is an 8-input module that belongs to is compatible for use with Micrologix series. This module is manufactured and designed by Spectrum controls. It can withstand a maximum temperature of 60 degrees Celsius and operating vibrations of 10 to 500 Hertz. It can be used at a maximum altitude of 2000 meters. If the altitude is higher, the drive must be derated.
The 1762s-IF8U, similar to other 1762 expansion modules, requires proper connection to a grounding system. This will help to prevent electromagnetic interference affecting each channel. This module is designed to be mounted on a DIN rail or a mounting plate. If required, additional connections to the module must be made through its DIN rail. Additional space must be left between the module and other equipment because this will help it to have better ventilation. When installing the 1762s-IF8U, the cables must be left as short as possible, to maintain maximum accuracy. The module should be located as close as possible to the input devices in order to guarantee accurate operations.

For Voltage signals, compatible signals are ±50 mV, ±100 mV, 0 to 5 V, 1 to 5 V, ±10 V and 0 to 10 V. For Current signals, compatible values are 4 to 20 mA and 0 to 20 mA.
Input signals are converted to digital values via an integrated Analog to Digital converter. Converted values may save to different data formats such as Engineering units ×1, Engineering units ×10, Scaled-for-PID, and Raw/proportional data. Each channels has individual input filters 4 Hz, 17 Hz, 62 Hz and 470 Hz.
