The NI PCI-1408 device is a high-accuracy, monochrome, IMAQ board for PCI slot that supports RS-170, CCIR, NTSC, and PAL video standards. It also supports some nonstandard cameras from any of four input sources. The PCI-1408 is simple to configure, allowing the board to be easily installed and image acquisition to begin. This device acquires frames in real time and transfers them directly to system memory.

The PCI-1408 features an 8-bit flash analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that converts video signals to digital formats. This device is ideal for both industrial and scientific environments due to its low cost and high accuracy.

The 1408 device supports 4 video sources and four external I/O lines that can be used as triggers or digital I/O lines. If more advanced triggering or additional I/O lines (digital or analog) are required, the PCI-1408 and NI-IMAQ software can be used with the NI data acquisition (DAQ) product line.
