The device provides low-cost, reliable DAQ capabilities for a variety of applications ranging from laboratory automation, research, design validation/testing to manufacturing testing. SCC or SCXI signal conditioning modules can be used to add sensors and high voltage measurement capabilities to the device. The included NI-DAQmx driver and configuration utility simplify configuration and measurement.

National Instruments PCI-6259 Multi-function DAQ

PCI-6259 is a multi-function data acquisition device from National Instruments. The part number of this equipment is 779072-01. The PCI-6259 is a 16-bit M-series device. The equipment provides an optimized solution for measurement requirements. The PCI-6259 device integrates the NI-STC 2 system controller. The controller guarantees high performance. For higher accuracy, NI-MCal calibration technology is available in the PCI-6259 device.

The PCI-6259 multi-function DAQ features 32 single-ended /16 differential analog input terminals. The input terminal is software optional. The sampling rate depends on the mode selected (single/multi-channel). The maximum sampling rates are 1.25 MS/s and 1 MS/s, respectively. The input channel operates in the range of + 0.1V to +10V. When the PCI-6259 device is powered on, the input impedance is greater than 10 GΩ. When the device is powered off, it decreases to 820Ω. Input channels have low noise levels. The level of crosstalk is -75db. The PCI-6259 I/O device has four 16-bit analog output terminals and transmits data at a rate of 2.86 MS/s. The timing resolution of the output is 50ns. The overspeed current at the output is 20ma. When the device is powered on, a 1.5V fault occurs for 1.5 seconds. The PCI-6259 device also incorporates FIFO buffers at both the input and output ends. The device has 48 digital I/O channels.

PCI-6259 contains two counters/timers. The timer has a resolution of 32 bits and a frequency of 80mhz. The FIFO buffer of the counter can store two samples. The PCI-6259 also has a frequency generator and two basic clocks. These clocks have fixed frequencies :100 KHZ and 10 MHZ. The output of the frequency generator is transmitted to all PFI or RTSI terminals. The PCI-6259 runs using the NI-DAQmx driver. You need to install the NI-DAQmx driver. After installing the software, users need to install support for the application development environment of their choice, which can be LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, C/ C ++, C #, or Visual Basic.NET.
