The NI 7330 controller features advanced motion control features with easy to use software tools and an additional motion VI library for LabVIEW. The 7330 controller is a stepper motor controller for PXI and PCI. The 7330 provides fully programmable motion control for up to four independent or coordinated motion axes, with dedicated motion I/O for limits and home switches, and additional I/O for general-purpose functions. You can use the 7330 motion controller for point-to-point and linear vector movement for stepper motor applications. The 7330 controller adds the ability to perform arbitrary and complex motion trajectories using stepper motors. The stepper shaft can be operated in open or closed loop mode. In closed loop mode, the stepper axis uses an orthogonal encoder or analog input for position and speed feedback (closed loop only) and provides step/direction or clockwise (CW)/counterclockwise (CCW) digital command output. All stepper axes support full step, half step and micro step applications.

The 7334 features an advanced dual-processor architecture that uses a 32-bit CPU, combined with a digital signal processor (DSP) and a custom field programmable gate array (fpga), making the controller a high-performance device. The first in first out (FIFO) bus interface and powerful feature set provide high-speed communication while offloading complex motion functions from the host PC for optimal command throughput and system performance.
