Instructions
The T9803 is a dual-channel bidirectional buffer for I2C bus and SMBus/PMBus systems. It provides bidirectional level switching between low voltages (as low as 0.8V) and high voltages (1.65V to 3.6V). The T9803 has an internal current source on the B side of the device, so the B side does not require an external pull-up resistor. The current source also offers improved rise time and ultra-low power consumption.
The T9803 is capable of providing true buffering without the use of static voltage offset or incremental offset (as opposed to pass-FET solutions). This means that the VOL on the A and B sides of the T9803 is extremely low (around 0.2V), helping to eliminate communication issues due to fixed VIL thresholds. Another important feature of the TCA9803 is that there is no power sequencing requirement or power dependency. VCCA can be greater than, less than, or equal to VCCB. This gives system designers the flexibility to use the T9803.
